Laura is a first time mum, an HR Business Partner and owner of Family HR. During her maternity leave she found that lots of mums at local baby groups had questions and concerns about returning to work after maternity leave. Many mums didn’t fully understand their maternity rights or didn’t feel very confident asking for new flexible ways of working to fit in with their family. Laura saw the opportunity to use her HR knowledge and coaching skills to help and so Family HR was born!
Laura is passionate about helping mums create the work/life balance they need and want. She provides HR advice and coaching on maternity leave and returning to work. She works closely with her clients to understand what’s important to them, before helping create a plan that allows them to make a smooth and confident transition back into work.
‘Being an HR Business Partner and a mum myself, I have seen maternity leave from both sides. I know how daunting it can feel returning to work and also how confusing maternity policies and processes can be. I’ve supported so many mums back into work, often helping them back into flexible working roles. I’ve also returned to work part-time myself alongside running my own business. My aim is to make it simpler and easier for mums to enjoy their maternity leave and return to work confidently.
