Birth Stories - Because your story matters

One of the things that makes the 6 Week Social so special is something that might surprise you… we talk about birth stories.
Not in a scary, overwhelming, or “you have to share if you don’t want to” kind of way — but in a gentle, supportive, completely judgement-free space.
Because birth stays with you.

Whether your experience was calm, chaotic, empowering, disappointing, straightforward, or nothing like you expected — it matters. And for so many mums, there isn’t always the time or space to properly process it.
In those early days, everything moves so quickly. You’re suddenly caring for a tiny human, running on very little sleep, and being asked constantly how the baby is… but not always how you are.
That’s where these conversations come in.
During the course, we create space for you to share your birth story if you’d like to. Some mums talk about it straight away, others take a few weeks, and some prefer just to listen — and all of that is completely okay.
Because it’s not about how your birth “should” have gone. It’s about how it felt to you.
For some, it’s a chance to celebrate an experience they feel proud of.For others, it’s about making sense of something that didn’t go to plan. And for many, it’s simply about being heard by other mums who get it.
There’s something incredibly powerful about sitting in a room where no one is comparing, no one is judging, and no one is trying to fix your story. They’re just listening.
And often, you’ll find parts of your own experience reflected in someone else’s — those little moments, feelings, or thoughts you didn’t realise other people had too.
It can be such a relief.
Talking about birth isn’t about dwelling on the past — it’s about acknowledging it. Giving it space. Letting it be part of your story as you move forward into motherhood.
Over the weeks, I’ve seen how much these conversations can shift things. Mums walking in unsure, sometimes holding onto parts of their experience quietly, and gradually feeling lighter just by saying it out loud.
There’s no pressure. No expectation. Just space, if you need it.
And that’s really what the 6 Week Social is all about — not just meeting other mums, but feeling supported, understood, and a little less alone in your experience.
Because your story matters too.
